First I would like to say Red River Gorge Cabin Rentals has the best designed website I've came across so far.
It's very informative & easy to navigate. That alone made me decide I would be renting my cabin from them. Soon after doing a quick look over the cabin available
I realized this wasn't going to be easy. Every cabin offered or had something I was looking for. But because this was not only going to be part of my vacation, But also
work for my photography business. I knew the cabin I rented had to have great views & photo opportunities close by. So I narrowed it down to 3. The Grandview, Bear Necessities &
Mountain memories.
After looking over the information & photos of these cabins more closely. I noticed that Mountain Memories was already reserved for the days I wanted. So that narrowed it down to 2.
Bear Necessities & Grandview. I could tell from the photos that the Grandview would probably have great views of the sky & using the map provided on the website
which shows the locations of each cabin. I figured the sun would set right behind the cabin it appeared the back side faced west. Which meant good sunset photos & night photos of
the stars. But I also really like taking wildlife photos & the Bear Necessities was close to a small pond. Which meant I could probably get good photos of ducks, geese, heron & other wildlife.
I found it really hard to choose between the two cabins. So I emailed them, Told them what I was looking for in a cabin & asked for their recomendation. In the reply I got a confirmation that the Grandview
did face west & had big open skies & was a local favorite. There was also a lake or big pond close by (very short walk). While the Bear necessities was close to a pond it was heavily wooded, Which meant the sky was not very open.
His recomendation was the Grandview.
Considering the Grandview had open skies, faced west for good sunsets & was also very close to a pond. I decided it was the cabin I would rent. After spending 3 nights at the Grandview I'm very glad I got it.
Some of my favorite photos were taken on the porch of the cabin at night. My favorite being a night shot of the Conference Center or Resort Lodge (which is close by) at night with the lights on & the stars above it in the night sky.
